Animal Prints
Fourth grade students learned about printmaking through the creation of these foam-block animal prints. Each student created a drawing of one of their favorite animals. They transferred their drawing to a piece of printing foam by tracing with a ball point pen. Students then learned to add ink to their foam plate with a rubber brayer and to smooth their foam plate onto a piece of colored construction paper. The results demonstrate a strong understanding of the process of printmaking.
