Fall Leaves
As the very first unit of the year, second grade students learned how to mix the primary colors to make secondary colors. We spent one class adding red to yellow to get orange and each student painted two pieces of paper with the shade of orange they created. The next class, when all the paper was dry, we read a book about fall and used our orange paper to make lots of different fall leaves. All the different shades of orange made for a beautiful tree outside of the art room!
