David Hockney Inspired PhotoMontages

The art department was asked to put up a large display to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the school.  In order to encourage teamwork, create a large display and incorporate art history, I asked the students to create these large photomontages in the style of David Hockney.

Students looked at pictures of Hockney's work and then brainstormed as a class to decide what area of the school they would like to focus their own project on.  Each class took between 40 and 60 photos, printed them on 8.5"x11" paper and then worked together to glue all their photos back together.

The result was an impressive, poster size image of an area of the school that is important to the student body.
