Georgia O'Keeffe Oil Pastel Drawings

Third grade students learned about the artist Georgia O'Keeffe during this unit.  After reading a story about her and looking at her various paintings of flowers, each student drew their own large-scale flower on drawing paper.  They worked hard to ensure that their flower was bigger than their paper and that the petals overlapped many times.  Students then chose several analogous oil pastels to use on their petals.  They colored each petal individually, blending carefully as they went.
