Watercolor Oceans
For this project, fourth graders learned about color mixing with watercolor paints. Each student created 12 small pieces of paper painted with primary, secondary and tertiary colors. They then researched ocean animals and used their colored papers to create a variety of different sea creatures. The creatures were glued on a background of gradating chalk and surrounded by a frame.
