Green Witches

Second grade students practiced creating all the secondary colors.  They created orange fall leaves, purple flowers, and these green witches to demonstrate their understanding of the primary and secondary colors.

Each student mixed yellow and blue together to create green.  They used this green paint to create the oval face of their future witch.  After their paint had dried, students used construction paper and yarn to add witchy accessories.  This was a great opportunity to incorporate facial features and to discuss with students where the eyes, nose and mouth go when creating a face in proportion.
