Primary Person and Secondary Dog
Primary Person and Secondary Dog are a great way to teach color theory to early elementary students! Each student chooses a primary color for the "skin" of their person. They use the other two primary colors to make decorations for the person. Student then repeat the process to create a pet dog for the person using the secondary colors. I start the year with this project so that students have a solid understanding of the primary and secondary colors.
